I dont buy chow chow regularly. But amma buys them often and make kootu, poriyal with them. I have tasted them and it taste good.. So when i went shopping few weeks back, i saw this veg and picked one and made this..

Preparation Tme: 10 mins
Cooking Time : 15 to 20 mins
Serves: 3 to 4

Ingredients:

Chow Chow / Chayote - 1 chopped finely
Milk - 1 cup
Water - 1/2 cup
Salt to taste

For Grinding:
Coconut - 1/2 cup
Green Chilli - 1
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Rice Flour - 2 tsp

For Seasoning:
Coconut Oil - 1 tblspn
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves - 1 sprig

Method:

Grind the ingredients for grinding till smooth.

Take chow chow in a sauce pan. Add in milk and water and cook till chow chow is done.

Add in coconut masala. mix well. Cook for 2 mins or so. Add salt and mix well.

Heat oil in a pan, add in mustard and urad dal and let them sizzle. Add curry leaves and let them sizzle.

Pour this in the curry and mix well.

Chop choyote into small pieces

Take coconut in a blender

add green chilli

add cumin seeds

add rice flour

puree till smooth

take chow chow in a pan

add milk

add water

bring it to a boil

simmer till the veggie is cooked

add coconut masala

mix well

add salt

mix well

cook till thickens

heat oil in a pan

add mustard seeds

add urad dal

add curry leaves

let them sizzle

pour it into the curry

Mix well

Serve
